365 Letters to Myself

September 11th, Never forget...

I remember that morning like yesterday. The weeks that followed. I went and viewed the site, as close as I could get, for myself. There was a picture of our flag on every house on the block that I loved. A terrible thing, but it seemed we as a country were more prideful about being American than ever before in my lifetime. It stuck, what I really feel about this experiment that is the U.S.A, what it all means!

Every day, year we add to our history but obviously some events withstand and or have greater impact. I didn’t know anyone who died that day. But I know plenty that were affected from deaths of loved ones, near misses, escaped, helped in the cleanup and their lives are forever changed. In the chain of events, my son ended up joining the guard, being deployed for 9 months and is not the same person. Still as dad would say, “such a good boy”, but whatever he experienced it is part of who he is now, and a daily reminder besides the commemoration of this actual day.

Hmmm, always remember…day 57!

Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
