365 Letters to Myself

May 1st - Asheville Cougars...

What a great idea it was to create a playlist from our vacation. Nod to the local team’s name, and us 50-year-old ladies, we call it Asheville Cougars.

Music is a story and now we have our trip captured in sound! As we listened to it the first time, determining who added what, we shared what was behind our selections. Some songs already had powerful meaning… The Boys of Fall, symbolic of one’s boys and her favorite sport to watch them play, The Prayer surprising brought tears as her father passed to it, It’s The End of the World putting to music inner feelings… and so on. The songs also were a window into each other’s musical taste, sides of our personalities and if you listen close to the words, what may be held inside rather than spoken out loud.

We have decided to keep adding to it, every trip we take together. As this vacation had to come to an end, I found myself listening fondly to our playlist a couple of days later, a temporary return to the wonderful few days and escape from routine.

Hmmm, be jamming…day 271!

Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
