January 19th - Goldy...
It’s my youngest granddaughter’s birthday…and I got her a goldfish! I overheard her and her mom talking about pet options she was negotiating for, hamster, goldfish... Her sweet voice countering mom’s no with, “But I want a pet that is just mine”. Grandma moment – I can get her one!
She seems pretty excited about it. I decided to start basic; the simple bowl, rocks, 1 decoration. We can see how it goes before investing more. I also coached her that sometimes goldfish might float on top of the water, meaning they need to return to ‘the ocean’ via toilet. Let's hope it will be weeks!!
The name she chose, Goldy, appropriately. Goldy is investigating its new home, after a small initial meal. These are the moments being referred to in the quote, “Enjoy the little things, for one day you will realize that they are the big things.” I’ve tried to live by this, but too often I realize, I could have done better, it goes too fast!
Why do we deny those voices inside giving us nudges we know will be undeniable truths?
