365 Letters to Myself

October 19th, Exercising strengths..

This morning as I was brain dumping, waiting for mom while she was at her eye appointment, I found myself writing about strengths – and how they need to be exercised. This perspective, aided by content/homework of a purpose class I am blessed to take, a client I have been privileged to work with.

The dialogue was all about the idea that to have strong muscles, we exercise. To have flexibility, we stretch. We learn be doing, studying, and application. It makes sense that once we identify with our strengths, that I do believe have a strong intrinsic origin, to keep them strong in our character – they require exercise, stretching, application.

Then the gut check, like my physical workouts, how disciplined am I in a strength workout? What tremendous opportunity exists for me to improve my strength health? Perhaps others want to suggest, obvious, this is not news. But I would offer, many of us, just want to go through their days without such checks & balances, not thinking or over thinking, being rather than in a constant state of working on, self-awareness. I included. However, with this view and perspective, it is easier to see how to embrace and be excited about ‘exercising’ strengths.

Hmmm, daily workouts…day 95!

Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
