August 14th, Division...
How intuitive, interesting, karma...the gospel reading today spoke to division. No kidding. I was curious where father would take it, he did a nice job speaking about choosing love. Where there is love, it is difficult for the hate, motives behind division to exist, thrive.
There is truth in ‘united we stand, divided we fall’ as a country. I could go in a million of directions with this, given the current state of the union. Personally, I believe the system is meant to not exist in the division of ideas but to bring the best parts of them to various places in between for the betterment of greatest good. We aren’t doing that right now, sadly. May love find its place in calming rhetoric, opening minds/ears and bringing some balance.
Of course, every day I get to face the division within our family. Never did I think we would find ourselves in such a place, never. But apparently, we were divided for a while and in dishonor to all dad, mom worked to build, now the love not strong enough to heal it. I must leave it there for the moment and continue to pray daily love will conquer what it is meant to.
Hmmm, forever more?…day 32!
Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
