365 Letters to Myself

January 7th - Open road...

Few things feel as limitless as the open road, a road trip. I love a good road trip and I forget how much until I take one and or hear about someone going on one. Was with a dear friend today as she was describing the trip she is about to embark on. We spoke of the Thelma & Louise ode to being on the road.

I did take a trip myself, a couple of them in 2021. One to the Bridges of Madison County and one to Ohio with a friend-visiting her sister. Trying to summarize the feeling I get is tough. I keep coming back to freedom, but presence is appropriate, less of an agenda than having to make a plane/train, go with the flow. When I am by myself, I go both ways – quiet, reflecting, brainstorming or open windows, tunes, singing. With someone I am open to discovery, adventures, good conversations. Obviously, in both scenarios taking in the scenery, the experience, an adaptable agenda. Think I may be overdue for one. Wish my friend an amazing time!

What exists for one, behind a wheel and an open road ahead?!

Hmmm, awaits me…day 170!

Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
