365 Letters to Myself

December 13th, Kids singing...

As I sit here deciding what to write, my 6-year-old granddaughter is singing in the bathtub. A sound to be treasured.

She is singing her version of a Christmas carol, inserting her dad (my son) and other phrases she likes to use. It is cute, she has a nice voice, in harmony to the tune. Children singing is one of the most precious sounds in our lifetime.

I remember a Holiday concert of my son’s – he was 3 or 4. His teacher told the kids to sing loud so their parents could hear them. We were more towards the back. My son sang louder than all the other kids combined…it was so adorable. One of the best concerts. (until his teacher crushed him-I don’t even like to repeat the story). Unless I want to consider the concert of my oldest, at a similar age, without an attention span, started taking off his clothes. Haha.

Thinking about all the musical events…my 3 boys, my older granddaughter…some of the best things you experience as a parent/grandparent. So pure, innocent...memorable childhood moments.

Hmmm, real music…day 150!

Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
