365 Letters to Myself
April 23rd- Friendship...
Thinking about how people define and view friendships. Such an important part of my life, I treasure a friendship and do so through reach outs and making time for each other. I have always been an initiator, accommodator and prioritize the relationship within my life.
If a friend is in need, I like to believe I am that friend indeed. I recognize expecting to fulfill the relationship within family is not the same. Friendship is a relationship of choice and there is something about choosing each other that is a big deal to me.
I do not measure by the quantity but the quality. Though in reflection, what an incredible number of people I call friends. Obviously, there are different levels of the bond from casual to intimate. But in most cases, my level of response and caring is consistent. My inner responsibility leads me to be accountable for what I put into the relationship, and that is not a 50/50, but 100% without keeping score. But what about when the friend defines and views it differently?
Hmmm, a choice…day 263!
Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
