365 Letters to Myself

March 31st- Out like a lamb...

So, the saying goes, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb… not this year. Major ‘April Fools’ snowfall is predicted, 5-8” of wet, heavy snow and blizzard winds. Yuck!!

Typically, March snow doesn’t get shoveled and will most often be gone as fast as it came. Let’s hope this is the case, us Minnesotans are ready for the winter season to come to its close. This March we have yet to reach the 50’s though we have had a lot of sun! What is it about the weather that we want to talk about it?

I believe weather is an exercise in patience, and the theme that is going on for me, ‘letting go’. In my opinion, it is the ultimate practice in giving up control. Even with all their state-of-the-art equipment, forecasters can still be terribly wrong with the slightest change of winds. Another lesson to consider, open ourselves to the smallest change in perspective, what is different? Weather also offers a belonging, something at the center we can all feel connection to. Letting go, perspective, belonging – no wonder the conversation goes on.

In the absence of what might be common ground, the weather delivers.

Hmmm, make that a lion's roar…day 240!

Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
