April 8th - Egg coloring...

It was easter egg coloring day. The tradition lives on with my granddaughters.

We keep it relatively simple though. The girls don’t get fancy. Egg in the dye, and dry. Sometimes they write names, or draw, but this year couldn’t. We used a dye that created swirly patterns from vegetable oil. Wax and oil don’t work together, obviously. It is good, 19 eggs done, and ready to be hidden. (And enjoyed in egg salad sandwiches Easter evening, few days after)

I get to be the ‘Easter Bunny’ that hides the eggs. Though, not willing to play along that there is an Easter Bunny ‘for real’. It is fun to find hiding spots and then play hot/cold while the granddaughters hunt for them in the morning!

Traditions the thread that weaves memorable holidays.

Hmmm, and hunting…day 248!

Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
